Muslim Friendly Apps is a website dedicated to reviewing Mobile & Tablet applications from the perspective of a Muslim family.

iPads, iPods and iPhones are increasingly becoming valuable tools in childrens education. They have shown their value for special needs, homeschooling and educational purposes and developers continue to make use of this platform to provide more and more to families using this technology.

Many Muslim families prefer to avoid things like Music, Pigs and Holidays in their children’s media and entertainment, seeing them as contrary to their religious interpretation. Like other families, they are also wary of things like violence and romance. We saw a need for an App review site dedicated to these unique ideals and created Muslim Friendly Apps.

Muslim Friendly Apps is a project of Muslimas Oasis, a collaborative blog by and for Muslim (and non muslim) Women.

Our review process

Apps are thoroughly checked by Muslim parents and home educators, looked over with several criteria in mind and with a critical eye. Apps are then tested by our resident 6 and 4 year olds and their detailed opinions are sought before the review is written.

Disclosure

We review apps that we have purchased, downloaded while on sale or that have been given to us by developers for the purposes of review. The manner in which we obtain an app does not in any way dictate the content of our review or affect our reviewing process. Any criticisms or suggestions for improvement we have will be detailed honestly and objectively in our reviews.

We do not and would never accept payment in return for a review and we do not and would not write positive reviews as favors. Our integrity as objective and critical reviewers is most important to us.
